homemade pumpkin spice latte

I don’t think there’s anyone that loves a Pumpkin Spice Latte more than my mom. So for her 50+ birthday today, I’m whipping up this recipe from one of my Young Living leaders! Also, I think it’s pretty fitting that Starbucks brings back the PSL on the exact day of my mom’s birth, hah!

Speaking of which, I can’t remember the last time I physically walked into a Starbucks … it’s definitely been years. When I was in college, I went to Starbucks more than I went to the library! (and that’s saying something because I’m a nerd 🤘🏼). Nowadays, I love making coffee at home, so when I saw this PSL recipe, I knew I had to give it a go!

This tastes SO similar to a legit Pumpkin Spice Latte and I AM IN PUMPKIN HEAVEN! Give me all the chunky sweaters, cold weather + fall diffuser blends!

Pumpkin Spice Latte

ingredients —

+ 1 cup milk or non-dairy alternative
+ 1.5 tbsp pumpkin puree
+ 1 shot of espresso or 4-oz of very strong coffee
+ 1 tsp honey or agave
+ 1 drop of Thieves vitality essential oil*
+ optional: whipped cream, creamer, sugar (if you like your PSLs sweet) + pumpkin pie spice to sprinkle on top

instructions —

+ Combine milk, pumpkin and espresso in a saucepan over medium-low heat.
+ Stir often, til it starts to simmer.
+ Remove from heat, add the honey/agave and let it cool for about 5 minutes.
+ Add 1 drop of Thieves vitality essential oil and stir thoroughly. If you want it more on the sweeter side, add some sugar.
+ Pour into a cup and enjoy! Top with whipped cream, frothed creamer + pumpkin pie spice sprinkled on top for Instagram 💁🏻‍♀️

*If you don’t have Thieves vitality essential oil, DM me! hah (but seriously). Or use pumpkin pie spice and vanilla extract to get the right pumpkin-y flavor!

Happy almost fall + a very happy birthday to my best friend, my mama. xoxo.

loving lately, volume 11

Happy it’s almost fall and we can almost start to wear sweaters and eat pumpkin things and stop sweating 24/7, friends! You’ll be happy to know I’m already diffusing all the fall-smelling oils and listening to Christmas music — don’t let anyone tell you it’s too soon 🤪

Speaking of too soon — have you guys been watching “Bachelor In Paradise”? #JusticeforBibiana #JusticeforDylan #andthosetextmessagesOMG. I’m already stressed out. This past season of “The Bachelorette” gave me such a headache and I need alllllll the lavender and peppermint to make it through the rest of Bachelor In Paradise haha. Why do I do this to myself. But also, I can’t wait to see the drama unfold this week. Pass the popcorn, please.

Until then, here’s everything I’ve been loving lately!

+ Cash Pad

JoJo Fletcher and Jordan Rodgers are one of my absolute FAVORITE Bachelor couples and they’re taking on some serious rental renovations on their new show, “Cash Pad”! Move over, Chip + Jo (jk, I love you both). I loved watching JoJo and Jordan’s love story unfold on “The Bachelorette,” but I loved them even more after watching their Engaged with JoJo & Jordan YouTube channel! And “Cash Pad”?! Give me all the home renos! The duo took on an Airstream in the latest episode and I can’t wait to see what they do next!

“Cash Pad” airs Tuesdays at 10 pm ET on CNBC, but I’ve also been able to find full episodes on CNBC Prime’s YouTube channel!

+ Cocokind turmeric spot treatment

THIS STUFF IS MAGIC AND EVERYONE NEEDS TO KNOW ABOUT IT. Sorry for the yelling, but it needs to be said. I heard about Cocokind through the interwebs and finally caved when I saw it at Target! Man oh man does it live up to the hype! It’s gotten rid of unwelcome visitors on my face practically overnight! It treats acne on the spot, reduces inflammation, balances skin tone and brightens dark spots. I’m not the type of person to have a full-blown skincare routine (whoops), but this stick has been super easy for me to use (and a lifesaver)!

+ Born To Be Yours — Imagine Dragons and Kygo

This is the last time I’ll talk about anything Bachelor-related, I promise! 😂BUT I was watching one of Peter the pilot’s Instagram stories (ya know, Peter from Hannah B’s season #peterforbachelor) and he was singing along to this super catchy song so I did some googling and apparently it was an Imagine Dragons hit from last year that I never heard of?! I’ve made up for lost time by playing it on repeat more than I’d like to admit, but if you’ve heard it, you’d understand. Try blasting it in the car with the windows down and not singing along … I dare you.

+ Checkerboard Slip-On Vans

I’ve been looking for a good slip-on tennis shoe and I thought I found *the one* the other day at Target. I regret to inform you (and my feet), that they hurt the back of my ankle so bad after wearing them for a few hours that they have to be returned 😭 But THEN I saw Rachel Bilson’s Instagram post of her on former Bachelor Nick Viall’s podcast, The Viall Files, (ok ok, sorry for the Bachelor talk again 🤪). Rachel was wearing some checkerboard Vans with ripped jeans and a black— ya know what, I’m just going to show you—

Cute, right?! I never would’ve paired the outfit together or even thought about Vans post-middle school, but then I thought WWZHKD? (What Would Zoe Hart-Kinsella Do? Shoutout to the Hart of Dixie fans out there). And ya know what? Zoe would buy the shoes. So I did ✌🏼

+ Young Living’s Sacred Mountain essential oil blend

I heard so much about Sacred Mountain and I finally got it in my monthly order last month! It is so GOOD! Sacred Mountain is a blend of Ylang Ylang and conifer oils that promotes feelings of strength, empowerment, grounding and protection when diffused. I’m loving it with tangerine or grapefruit and lavender at night!

+ Pacifica Perfumed Hair & Body Mist

If you’re looking for a great (and natural!) body mist, look no further. I have Pacifica’s Tahitian Gardenia and Indian Coconut Nectar and love them both! The smell lasts throughout the day and isn’t too overpowering. Highly, highly recommend. Plus they’re clean, cruelty-free and vegan!

+ Freya Riding’s “Lost Without You”

I don’t have too much to say about this one other than 1. where can I learn to sing like that, 2. wow this song and 3. 😭

+ Trader Joe’s Jalapeño Sauce

I picked this up the other day and it is LIFE-CHANGING. I’m loving it on burritos, tacos and burrito bowls. It’s definitely spicy (you’ve been warned), so you just need a little drizzle!

+ Young Living’s CinnaFresh deodorant

I’ve struggled to find a natural deodorant that actually works, but it finally happened! I’m loving YL’s CinnaFresh deodorant — no stink or weird residue! It smells a little more rosemary than cinnamon to me, but I love it nonetheless! I can’t wait to try the CitraGuard deodorant next! (PS — I’m a YL distributor so if you’d like to try it, shoot me an IG message or email!)

+ Kevin Garrett’s debut album, “Hoax”

I had no idea Kevin Garrett dropped his debut album until a friend sent it to me and I am SPEECHLESS. It’s so, so good. You can feel the emotion in each song and did you know he received a Grammy nomination for his work on Beyoncé’s album, “Lemonade”?! This guy is g i f t e d.

+ Olly Plant-Powered Vegan Protein Powder

I’ve been trying out some vegan protein lately and I’m currently loving Olly’s salted caramel chocolate! I’ve tried the vanilla, too, but the flavor was a little too subtle for me, so the salted caramel chocolate reigned supreme. Plus it blends smoothly which is key!

+ Dermot Kennedy’s “For Island Fires and Family” Mahogany Session

I was reminded of this “For Island Fires and Family” rendition the other day and it’s been on loop ever since. I’ll never tire of Dermot’s live performances (I mean, have you heard his voice?) and his Mahogany Sessions are my favorite! This video starts with his hit “Power Over Me” (also a jam), but if you just want to hear “FIFAF,” skip to 3:40. PS — his “Lost” Mahogany Session makes me weepy, too — the strings 😭🙌🏼

+ honey + lime popcorn

I heard about this easy recipe through Instagram and it’s currently one of my favorite things to throw together! It’s a fun twist on regular popcorn and so easy to make. You can blend the ingredients on the stovetop, but I opted for the microwave because #lazy. PS — I’m trying this popcorn recipe via Goop next!

+ your favorite bag of popcorn
+ 2 drops of Young Living’s Lime Vitality
+ 2 tbsp of your favorite honey (I used Trader Joe’s raw organic honey)
+ sea salt and coconut oil optional

Melt 2 tbsp of honey (if needed), then blend in 2 drops of the Lime Vitality. (Be sure it’s Young Living. I don’t recommend ingesting any other brand of essential oil!) If you’re using a little coconut oil, mix that in, too! Pour over a freshly popped bag of popcorn and sprinkle with sea salt! YUM.

Until next time,
xx Kassi
